The Charleston Beer Exchange hosts a book release party this evening (Thurs. Sept. 22) from 5-7 p.m. in celebration of local author and beer enthusiast Timmons Pettigrew’s new book Charleston Beer: A High-Gravity History of Lowcountry Brewing. Pettigrew will be on hand to sign copies and discuss the work he put into researching the history of brewing Charleston and the recent rise in high-gravity offerings and modern craft microbreweries.
“The big buzz on the local beer scene is all about the new book,” says Charleston Beer Exchange co-owner Scott Shor. “Timmons brings the past to life and explores the present as only a true beer connoisseur and exquisite writer could. The Charleston Beer Exchange is thrilled to be a first stop on his book tour.”
Copies of the book will be available for purchase. The shop will offer a complimentary tasting of the newly released Double IPA (nicknamed “Citrus Ninja Exchange”), a high-gravity collaborative effort from Westbrook Brewing and staff of the Charleston Beer Exchange.
