Quick update on the presentation by the Angel Oak Village developers next week. The project has upset some fans of the really old tree who are worried about the proximity. Developers have agreed to a substantial buffer, but it hasn’t assuaged fears that the tree’s health will be endangered.
Even though the city’s corridor review board will not be voting on the project, the city says the public will still be able to comment on the newly proposed plan. The meeting will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in the third floor conference room at 75 Calhoun St.
We also got a quick update from the developer, Robert DeMoura, who says there’s a new plan “with smaller, unique building types, which further protects Angel Oak Park.”
