Friday afternoon, we got word from PURE Theatre that they’ve finally found a permanent home after years of jumping between temporary venues. Starting Sept. 1, they’ll be based out of 477 King St. If that address sounds familiar, that’s because the space has housed the Charleston Ballet Theatre for the last several years.

“We’re thrilled to be able to step in and keep using it as a performance space,” says PURE co-founder Sharon Graci. “We are so appreciative of Prime South’s willingness to keep the space as a performance space.” She says PURE is grateful to the real estate company for keeping the space affordable, revealing their strong commitment to the arts in Charleston.

The Charleston Ballet Theatre will be moving their dance rehearsal studios over the bridge to Mt. Pleasant near Twin River Lanes. Their administrative offices will remain downtown. As for a performance space, it seems they’ll be doing a bit of jumping around themselves. They’ll kick off this season on Oct. 15 with Don Quixote at the Sottile Theatre.
