Many in the music community where shocked this week to hear about the passing of manager and promoter Jonathan “Johnny” Diamond, a Charleston native who worked with bands and studios over the last 10 years. Diamond died on Nov. 14. He was 31.
Diamond most recently worked with record label and management company New Tone and as a band manager and local rock trio HeyRocco. Diamond also recently managed local band Crowfield and served as en executive with Ten Star Records alongside Atlanta-based studio producer Rick Beato.
Friends and family members have posted comments about Diamond on the wall of his Facebook page.
According to McAlister-Smith funeral home, a downtown funeral service for Diamond is set for 3 p.m. on Sun. Nov. 20 at St. Luke’s Chapel (181 Ashley Avenue, at MUSC).
