King Street’s Ralph Lauren store is set to close Sat. Jan, 22. According to a corporate representative, Ralph Lauren is “making a strategic business decision to close the location.” A store employee says that although there are no closing sales going on, shoppers can take advantage of the winter sale.

After this weekend, Polo lovers won’t have to go far for their favorite tees with the signature etched emblem. A factory location opened in November at the Tanger Outlet in North Charleston. Saks Fifth Avenue, another one of King Street’s recent losses, is expected to open a location at Tanger this fall as well. Will Tanger be the new high-end shopping destination? Somehow we doubt it.
