[image-1]Where will you buy your Christmas gifts this year? Go local and support (big or small indie) artists you love at the same time during Record Store Day’s own Black Friday sale.

While the main RSD doesn’t arrive until spring, its annual Thanksgiving weekend special is back to encourage you to support independent record stores throughout the year.

There’s something for everyone to love, particularly with RSD’s special releases on Black Friday, including titles from Queen, Neil Young, Tori Amos, Paul McCartney, Ryan Adams, Dan Auerback, Sonny Clark Trio, Leonard Nimoy, and dozens more more.

RSD is also doing its first Small Business Saturday release, with a two-LP Dawes live album.

For the full list of releases, go to recordstoreday.com. Then go to The Vinyl Countdown (724-B King St.) or Monster Music & Movies (946 Orleans Road) on Black Friday — Fri. Nov.24 — to see which titles they’ve stocked for your (rather odd-shaped) stockings.

In addition, Monster will have over 150 exclusive vinyl releases plus a storewide sale of 50 percent off CDs and DVDs, 20 percent off new CDs and DVDs, 20 percent off new and used vinyl, 20 percent off turntables, accessories, posters, and tees. Catch the sidewalk sale too, with thousands of CDs and LPs for a quarter.

Happy hunting!
