Red’s Ice House is partnering with local nonprofit Warrior Surf Foundation (WSF) to host a paddleboard race for Veterans on Shem Creek Saturday, Oct. 31. Red’s managers will be racing to raise funds with proceeds going to WSF.

Warrior Surf Foundation was founded in Folly Beach in May 2015 and addresses post-service transitions and challenges with free surf therapy, yoga and wellness classes.

“We were so honored when Red’s reached out to sponsor us for their first Paddleboard Race for Vets,” said WSF founder and executive director Andy Manzi. “We hope locals and visitors alike come out on Halloween and enjoy some fun on the Creek to help support our program and our Vets just 11 days prior to Veteran’s Day.”

Saturday’s event will feature food and beer specials from Modelo and Corona along with contests and prizes.
