Redux Contemporary Art Center has already hired a new executive director. Karen Ann Myers, who’s served as director for the last three years, announced her resignation just a few weeks ago as well as a search for a new director.

Janie Askew accepted the position last week and she’ll start Oct. 1, two days before Myers will leave for her new job at the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art. Askew is no stranger to Redux, having taught classes like landscape drawing and a self portrait workshop. An artist herself, Askew earned her MFA in printmaking from the University of Georgia and she’s exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Atlanta, Kleico Projects in New York, and the Bradley International Print Exhibition in Illinois.

Askew is Redux’s fifth executive director, and she’ll help to usher in the center’s 10-year anniversary.
