Itching for 15 minutes of fame? Then head to Summerville next week for a chance to get some camera time on Food Network series Restaurant: Impossible. It appears super buff British host Robert Irvine — who transforms failing restaurants into allegedly successful businesses in just 48 hours — and crew will be in the self-declared “Birthplace of Sweet Tea” to film an episode next week. And the show is looking for design volunteers to help paint, craft, remodel, clean, and decorate on Thurs. Jan 22 and Fri. Jan. 23.
The name of the restaurant being retrofitted has yet to be announced.
Incidentally, Irvine is no stranger to South Carolina. He has a home in Hilton Head and was most recently making local headlines in 2013 when he lent his skills to an area hospital cook-off.
Show producers are asking those willing to volunteer to email firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday to apply. Use the subject line “FN SUMMERVILLE VOLUNTEERS.”
