Revelry Brewing Co. will host a week of specials and events honoring its sixth anniversary starting on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Dubbed “Six Days of Revelry,” the more intimate festivities are taking place in lieu of the brewery’s annual block party, a lively shindig that brings thousands of people to Conroy Street each October.
“The whole goal of the month was to figure out how to safely raise as much money as we could for the Green Heart Project,” said Revelry partner Sean Fleming.
The Green Heart Project (GHP), a nonprofit that connects student volunteers to food at its school gardens, has been the main beneficiary of Revelry’s block parties for the last five years.
Last year, Revelry donated over $21,000 to the Green Heart Project and has raised nearly $100,000 since its first block party in 2015.
Fleming said $1 from every beer sold in October will go toward GHP programming, meaning everyone who attends Six Days of Revelry will be contributing to the cause. The Green Heart Project is currently raising funds to assist in the completion of the Urban Farm at Enston Home, an affordable housing complex located at the corner of King and Huger streets.
Six Days of Revelry starts on Tuesday with “Sour Night” at The Hold, Revelry’s sour beer spin-off located on Romney Street around the corner from the main brewery. Four of the following five nights will feature food from local chefs and vendors at The Hold and the main brewery.
Wednesday, former MasterChef contestant Jamie Hough will serve a three to five course meal paired with Revelry beers. There will be two seatings (5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.), and all proceeds from the ticketed event will go to Southeast Rescue and Relief, a nonprofit that assists those impacted by hurricanes by providing first aid, meals and supplies.
On Friday, 167 Raw will make a rare pop-up appearance at The Hold.
“We are super excited for Halloween weekend at The Hold,” said 167 Raw operating partner Darren Harrison-Panes. “We are offering a mini lobster roll pop-up. We are also going to offer guacamole and chips, as well as our signature shrimp cocktail.”
Daps Breakfast & Imbibe co-owners Nick Dowling and Jeremiah Schenzel will be at the main brewery with Cap’n Crunch Berries empanadas, classic breakfast sandwiches and more for brunch Saturday afternoon, and the week will conclude with burgers from Pub Fare starting at 12 p.m. Sunday.
Fleming said there will be multiple beers released throughout the week, including a barrel-aged Baltic porter called Ribbon Rail made in collaboration with Virgil Kaine Lowcountry Whiskey Co. Revelry will also release its first canned hard seltzer on Saturday afternoon.
