The annual live music series Rockin’ on the Point (previously called “Party at the Point”) kicks off on Fri. April 30 at the Charleston Harbor Resort in Mt. Pleasant with live sets from veteran local rock/funk band Uncle Mingo. Music starts around 6 p.m. in the Sunset Deck area. The series continues through late July.
Over the last few years, organizers have added a lot of new things to provide a more patron-friendly environment, including more ATMs and credit card machines, shuttle to the parking area, and ticket flexibility. “We are coming into our — believe it or not — tenth anniversary season for Rockin’ On The Point.,” says organizer Rob Lamble (of Ear for Music). Lamble founded the Ear For Music booking agency in 1997. He gradually got involved as the head talent buyer with the Wild Wing Cafe, handling the band schedules and gig details for 18 Wild Wing venues in the Southeast.
The lineup below reflects a ton of alternative and classic rock, funk, reggae, and beach styles. The 10th Anniversary Finale with Crowfield and guests takes place on Fri. July 30.
