North Charleston brewery Rusty Bull Brewing Co. has created a Charleston Battery-inspired brew that will be sold at home games, at the brewery and select retail locations, the minor league soccer team announced Monday. The “Striker’s Wit” is “a light-bodied Belgian witbier” brewed using Palmetto Malt, South Carolina’s first and only malting business.

“We wanted to produce something that people could drink throughout the day at 4.8% [ABV],” said Ben Mayer, Rusty Bull’s co-owner, in a press release.

This isn’t the first time Rusty Bull has brewed a beer for a local sports team: You’ve probably seen cans of its BellyItcher blonde ale at Charleston RiverDogs baseball games.

The Striker’s Wit will be available starting Wednesday, June 23, when the brewery will invite Battery fans to watch their team take on the Charlotte Independence on the road at the beer’s official launch party. The beer will be available at all remaining home games at the Battery’s Patriots Point stadium.

“In this community, the Charleston Battery has a long tradition and actually is the longest [continuously run] professional club in the U.S.,” Rusty Bull co-owner Brian Bogstad said in the release. “We’re excited to collaborate with the home team and launch the Striker’s Wit with the Battery.”
