From The State:

Bambi Gaddist, a South Carolina advocate for HIV/AIDS issues, will be featured on CNN tonight for her work.

Gaddist is the latest CNN “Hero,” honored as an ordinary citizen who makes a difference in their community.

Gaddist will be profiled on “Larry King Live” tonight, and the segment will be repeated throughout the weekend.

Gaddist helped form the South Carolina HIV/AIDS Council, which encourages testing and counseling to persons with HIV.

She also was instrumental in an initiative two years ago to get more state funding toward a drug assistance program, and lobbies frequently for HIV issues in the state and nationally.

She helped set up Project Faith, which links prevention, education and programs on HIV to South Carolina churches.

Ten CNN Heroes will be honored this year; each wins $25,000 toward their cause. Additionally, one “Hero” will receive $100,000 from an online vote later this year.
