Sad Men and the People Who Love Them — an original sketch show from Company 29, a sketch company at the Magnet Theater in New York City — is coming to Theatre 99 on Sat. April 9 at 10 p.m. Company 29 has performed with Theatre 99’s The Have Nots, as well as in various performances at the Charleston Comedy Festival. One of the group’s performers, Tim Eberle, describes Sad Men as a “character driven, thematically grounded sketch comedy show.”[image-2]
The show’s description continues, “What happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or does it simply wind up on the local bus to the Staten Island Old Country Buffet?”
If the show’s premise isn’t titillating enough, then Company 29’s resume may be. The group has had performers go on to shows like Broad City, 30 Rock, The Colbert Report, and more.
