What is it? A chance for everyone to strut their creative sand-sculpting stuff. Four different categories (kid, family, adult, and young adult) allow all ages to compete for 19 different prize packages. Rumor has it, local weatherman Rob Fowler is going to be one the judges. We’ll tell him to order up a sunny sky.
Why see it? A sizable chunk of the front beach of Isle of Palms becomes an outdoor art gallery. It’s a sight for all eyes. Just remember to fill those holes when you’re done.
Who should go? You, your family, and all your friends’ families. Inexperienced and experienced sand artists are encouraged to participate. There is no entry (or spectator) fee, and the first 250 people to register get a free T-shirt. (Meaghan Strickland)
