Local Clash tribute band Sandinistas! will perform the legendary London punk band The Clash’s self-titled debut album, front-to-back on the Pour House stage on Sat. Dec. 26. Lead singer and guitar-slinger Kevin McCrary, guitarist Chris Oplinger, bassist Eric Atwood, and drummer Henry “Topper” Fishburne have been celebrating the music of The Clash for over two years.

Recorded in 1977 and released in the U.S. in ’79, The Clash featured more than a few breakneck, three-chord gems, but it wasn’t simply a raw punk collection; it featured bits of reggae, sneery power-pop, and even a nod to vintage rockabilly-rock with a version of Eddie Cochran’s “I Fought the Law.”

Word has it that Saturday’s bash might be the last Sandinistas! gig for the year. Look for more in Music Board next week.
