South Carolina health officials reported another 4,576 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday as the state approaches 4 million total tests administered since the start of the pandemic. The state also recorded 52 new deaths Saturday.

With 15,046 tests reported on Saturday, state Department of Health and Environmental Control said 30.4% were positive.

In all, DHEC said it has administered 3,995,219 tests since the pandemic began, likely crossing the 4 million mark on Sunday.

As of Saturday, more than 91,000 people have received doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, from 232,900 doses received in total.

Charleston County recorded some 250 new cases on Saturday. For reference, the state’s highest-population county, Greenville, recorded more than 700.
