Riding a trail of encouraging, but still lagging, poll numbers, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Vincent Sheheen will be campaigning heavily in Charleston this weekend with three back-to-back events on Saturday. Sheheen is running against GOP candidate Nikki Haley.

The Sheheen campaign will host a meet and greet in North Charleston from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Felix Pinckney Community Center.

Sheheen will then headline a Democratic Party rally from 1-3 p.m. at the Longshoremen’s Association Hall on Morrison Drive. That event will include other statewide candidates and local Democratic leaders.

A second meet and greet is planed for the Wadmalaw Island community Center on Katy Hill Road from 4-6 p.m.

All of Saturday’s events are free and open to the public, admission is free. For information call: 843-513-5415.
