The Cord and Pedal Christmas Ball (a.k.a. “La Fête de Noël”) enters its seventh year on Sun. Dec. 19 at the Pour House. Cord and Pedal and local indie label Shrimp Records company join forces for a night of music, hanging out, and holiday costumes.

Local-songstress Cary Ann Hearst curates this year, taking the reigns from usual-curator, longtime Charleston musician and artist Kevin Hanley. Included on the bill is the Shaniqua Brown frontlady Rachel Kate Gillion, supergroup Shrimp Records Family Band, the South Carolina Broadcasters’ old-time stylings, Lowcountry favorite Lindsay Holler, and more. Expect some Christmas originals, some traditionals, and some far-out interpretations.

Donations for Toys for Tots are accepted. Admission is $10. All of the proceeds collected at the door will benefit the Charleston Animal Society. See charlestonpourhouse.com for more. —Jansen Cumbie
