The City of Charleston and the Charleston Civic Design Center are hosting a photo contest to cap off Bike Awareness Month.

bEYEcycle aims to promote bicycle awareness and to demonstrate how Charleston and bicycling are a perfect pair. The competition is open to all and will offer up to three cash prizes in two categories; open and student (15 and under). All eligible photos must be taken in Charleston and include a depiction of a bicycle(s) or a portion of a bicycle. The registration and submission deadline is July 27th, 2007. All eligible photos will be included in the august exhibition which will take place at the Civic Design Center, 85 Calhoun Street. The winners will be chosen based on the aesthetic quality of the photos and their effectiveness at depicting bicycling, bicycles and bicycle awareness in Charleston. All winners will be announced at the opening of the exhibition on August 2nd, from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
