The Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance (SIBA) recently announced its Fall Okra Picks, a dozen staff-recommended releases of Southern literature. Two S.C.-based stories made the list: Patti Callahan Henry’s The Perfect Love Song and Beth Webb Hart’s Love, Charleston.

Love, Charleston is a Christian fiction book based in the Lowcountry, while The Perfect Love Song takes place in the fictional town of Palmetto Pointe (no relation to the failed sitcom of the same name, as far as we know). Atlanta-based Henry has been a nominee for SIBA’s Book of the Year twice, and Love Song is her seventh New York Times Bestseller. Hart, a Charleston resident, is no stranger to success either, with her second novel Adelaide Piper voted Books-A-Million’s book of the month in 2006.
