If Sublime was not the soundtrack to your middle school, or, hell, high school years, then we feel sorry for you. The punk/ska band is best known for earworm stoner tunes like “Santeria,” “What I Got,” “Smoke Two Joints” … the list goes on. Sublime with Rome is a collab between bassist Eric Wilson, formerly of Sublime, and singer and guitarist Rome Ramirez.

On Sat. July 27 Sublime with Rome will perform at Volvo Car Stadium along with Michael Franti & Spearhead (another classic earworm creator) and Common Kings. Tickets go on sale this Fri. Feb. 8 at 10 a.m.

While Sublime with Rome most certainly plays all your fave Sublime songs, they had to legally change their name back in 2010 when the estate of deceased Sublime member, Bradley Nowell, challenged the use of a trademarked name (Sublime) without Nowell. The band is currently comprised of Wilson, Ramirez, and Carlos Verdugo. Fans can also expect to hear some of Sublime with Rome’s newer tracks.

As much as Sublime was the soundtrack to our childhoods, Michael Franti & Spearhead was the sweet, sweet sound of many of our early college days. Just Google “Say Hey” to be transported (and no shame to whatever time that takes you to, friend).

Needless to say, the laid-back tunes of Sublime with Rome, Franti, and American reggae band Common Kings could be the soundtrack of your 2019 summer.
