If you’ve driven past Revelry Brewing Co. recently you’ve probably noticed a big ol’ set of stairs leading up to the brewery’s roof. And if you’ve guessed that the two year old brewery is opening a tasting room on its roof, well, then, you’re right.
“It’s been 17 months now,” says co-owner Sean Fleming of the rooftop construction. “We’ve run out of space down here. We need to step our game up.” So, they looked up, utilizing roof space to create a whole new open air tasting room, complete with a 15 seat bar, bathrooms, and a covered deck.
The downstairs tasting room and brewing space will remain the same, and as of right now Fleming doesn’t expect any changes in brewing capacity. Knowing that a large building is currently being constructed behind the brewery, Fleming and Co. have put in little touches like a mesh wall that will grow Confederate jasmine.
Fleming also adds that the space will be used for private parties, and that a number of wedding parties have already contacted him about renting it out. The rooftop tasting room can be rented out while the ground floor tasting room remains open.
The opening date of the rooftop bar is TBD, but Revelry hopes to have it functioning soon. The brewery’s two-year anniversay is coming up in October and what better way to toast than with a rooftop party?
