We heard that Hurricane Alley had shut down in Summerville/Sangaree area last month, but we didn’t learn the official news about the brand-new business in the same spot until a local band sent a listing update our way this week.

Glen Jeansonne is back on staff as the general manager (he helped run the place before the Hurricane Alley Days when it was called the Firehouse), and tells us they’ve renovated the bar and dining areas, booked a summer’s worth of live rock and blues bands, and designed a large dinner menu featuring steaks, sandwiches, salads, and bar faves.

“My personal commitment to every patron who enters our establishment is to give the best service, entertainment, and prices in town, he says. “Southern Comfort Bar and Grill is proud to be in Summerville and hopes to become the Summerville locals hang out for many more years to come.”

Southern Comfort is located a few miles east of downtown Summerville at 1761 N. Main Street. The kitchen open at 5 p.m. daily. Call 843-873-9220 and visit myspace.com/scomfortsc for more info.
