Last night, Stephen Colbert wrapped up Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report. Since 2005, the Charleston comedian has sat behind his desk and brought viewers a satirical take on current events. He’s penned books and interviewed the president. He even got the word “truthiness” added to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.
And on Thursday, he went out with a bang — in particular with his farewell song where he promised we’ll meet again. The funny man had a slew of special guests sing with him, including Bill Clinton, Jon Stewart, Willie Nelson, Big Bird, some of the cast of HBO’s The Newsroom, James Franco, troops from Afghanistan, Cyndi Lauper, Alex Trebek, and the list goes on. Check out the full episode below — the song is around the 12:20 minute mark — or at Comedy Central.
It’s all over now and on to bigger and better things for Colbert as he prepares to take over David Letterman’s desk and CBS’s The Late Show.
