Devoted yogis will unite and invite friends, family, and supporters to join them in Marion Square as they attempt to complete 108 Sun Salutations, a sequence of 12 yoga postures, on Saturday. The afternoon of down dogs, headstands, and mountain poses is a celebration of the breathing and exercise discipline to raise funds for Louie’s Kids, a charity aimed at combating and treating childhood obesity.

Louie’s Kids will share a portion of the donations with Yoga Benefits Kids, a nonprofit that helps children in Title 1 schools gain behavior and academic success through regular yoga practice. Many sponsors donate based on each Sun Salutation or each minute of yoga completed.

So come out, salute the sun, and help raise money for kids alongside some of the region’s most popular yoga instructors. Registration information for the benefit can be found at Louie’s Kids website.
