People, the Summer Shindig is back, and it’s happening across two outdoor stages and one indoor stage at the Royal American on Sat. June 24 beginning at 5 p.m.

Get a load of this beautiful lineup, which encompasses multiple genres on one big, delicious bill. Headliners are Athens psych-country band Futurebirds, local hip-hop god Matt Monday, and Johnny Delaware’s upwardly mobile indie-folk rockers the Artisanals.

It gets better. Performers also include Steven Fiore’s melodic indie-rock project, Young Mister; the Very Hypnotic Soul Band with its emcee extraordinaire Benjamin Starr; glorious psych-rockers out of Charlotte, Zack Mexico; the Soda City-based rock ‘n’ roll experience of ET Anderson; miraculous local garage-punk fuzzsters DUMB Doctors; contemplative electro indie-pop by Grace Joyner; local hardcore troupe Riot Stares; and the Holy City’s Jordan Igoe, with her raucous mix of soul, country, and rock ‘n’ roll.

There’s an afterparty going down later on inside the venue, too, featuring Crab Claw’s comedic rock and country plus spinner of rare disco-dance faves, DJ Party Dad & Friends.

Dan McCurry of the now defunct Hearts & Plugs bequeathed the label’s successful, annual Summer Shindig to the Royal American’s John Kenney and Charles Carmody of Murias Entertainment, who’s worked on the local fest in years’ past.

Carmody says, “Our goal is to highlight some of the amazing bands and musicians in Charleston, as well as bring in a few artists from the region who are leaving their mark on the Lowcountry’s music scene.”

Tickets are $25 for a day pass or $35, which includes the afterparty. Space is limited to 300 for the afterparty but the earlier, outdoor portion of the fest can fit up to 1,500 Shindiggers. Tickets are now on sale. Get yours here.
