If you live near a Westvaco forest, you may soon hear an audible sigh of relief. East of the Cooper, Sylvan Dell Publishing recently launched a new free trial of their online interactive eBooks. Many of these eBooks, targeted at young readers, have been gracing the screens of your son or daughter’s Smartboards for quite some time.

If you go to the company’s website, you can access one of their 45 titles for free — read fast, though — you only have two minutes. One of the more impressive features is its ability to Auto-Flip and be able to change languages instantaneously. Soon, “hopefully next week”, says founder Lee German, they will allow you to purchase the books for $3.95 per year, or you can still go with the flat rate of $11.95 for unlimited use.

Though hidden in the marshes of Mt. Pleasant, the company is constantly being featured in prominent trade shows for educational tools. Their titles are being utilized in over 2,900 schools and their list is growing. Hopefully they’ll catch fire, if there’s any paper left to burn.
