Charleston dream-pop husband-and-wife duo Tape Waves debuted their new single “Looking Around” today with online music/arts mag Killer Ponytail. It’s the third single released so far this summer in the lead up to the band’s July 28 release of the new LP Let You Go.

“‘Looking Around’ is about the feeling of not being able to stop thinking about someone when you first get to know them,” singer Kim Weldin explains. “That obsessive head-in-the-clouds feeling you get in the early stages of a relationship. It’s definitely a one-sided relationship in this song, though.”

Kim and her other half Jarod Weldin collaborated on the album with Seattle band Seapony, who contributed guitar tracks and tambourine to the new single. A celebration for the so far, so sunny Let You Go is happening August 21 at Redux Studios in Charleston. Look out for a full Tape Waves record-release feature in the City Paper on August 20.
