What is it? A minimalist art film that reveals the process of making plywood at a mill in Chester, S.C. The filmmaker used plywood sheets made in the film to build an installation theater in Waterfront Park just for this showing (the only thing not plywood will be the projector). Sam Fleischner is a chip of talent off the artistic block. His father is the outdoor sculptor Richard Fleischner.
Why See It? Material-driven design is in. Fleischner is out for consumer connection, not guilt. He also has a trained eye for composition.
Who Should Go? Anyone who likes building stuff or going to art museums.
