What is it? Wonderful young musicians playing music of depth, passion, and just the right mix of fun. This able trio consists of Giuliana Contreras on piano, Yun Hao Jiang on cello, and Javier Orman on violin.
Why see it? The Terranova Trio’s members, well-known and loved by Charleston audiences, have created an eclectic and exciting program that touches several bases. Beethoven’s Piano Trio in D, known as the “Ghost” trio, marked the great composer’s return to form after the upheaval of his impending deafness, and bears all the hallmarks of the mature composer. Modern American composer Paul Schoenfield’s Cafe Music offers a boisterous mix of jazz, classical, and Broadway styles, served piping hot.
Who should go? Come one, come all. There’s something on this plate for everyone.
