White Columbia officer suspended for repeating racial slur. A Columbia officer was captured on video repeating the n-word during an interaction in the city’s Five Points bar and entertainment district. “The repetition of the racial slur and failure to de-escalate the situation were inexcusable,” said Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook. Survey says South Carolinians exercising 56 percent less than pre-pandemic. A poll puts South Carolina as the second laziest during the pandemic with 56 percent less exercising during the pandemic than before. The only state with more was Vermont, with 67 percent less exercise. Source: WCIV

Lawmakers to write spending plan after months of delays. Today the state’s Board of Economic Advisors will take its first step, releasing an estimate on how much the state will collect in taxes and fees for the year starting July 1.
