Coronavirus cases see highest one-day total. The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control announced 1,639 new cases on Saturday, the highest single-day total since July. More than 14,000 tests reported on Saturday, well over the number on a normal weekday. The percent positive rate has remained in double digits for three weeks. Source: The State
