The Alley reopened last week with extensive safety protocols following a 170-day closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The downtown sports bar and bowling alley had planned to reopen on June 16, but that was halted due to a spike in Charleston-area cases. After the delay, The Alley partnered with MUSC to help it reopen in a safe manner.
“Since we closed our doors March 16, it has been my personal mission to take care of our team in every way possible and try to make the best decisions to protect them and our community,” said owner David Crowley. “I’ve also done everything in my power to ensure The Alley is around for the long-term. I’m very excited about the future of our business.”
New protocols include employee health screenings prior to shifts, individually packaged condiments, increased sanitation and a maximum party size of eight people.
The Alley is open Monday through Wednesday from 2-11 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. A full list of the new safety guidelines can be found online at thealleycharleston.com.
