The Neighborhood Dining Group has announced that it will be closing The Buccaneer tomorrow. A press release announcement blames the economy and says NDG will be announcing a new concept in 2011.

“We opened a large capacity family-style themed restaurant in a very difficult economy,” said Managing Partner David Howard. “This formula has been successful for us at the Queen Anne’s Revenge on Daniel Island since 2001, but unfortunately has not worked for us downtown.”

The group’s next project is the much-anticipated Husk, a Southern-centric restaurant that Executive Chef Sean Brock says will not serve anything sourced from outside the region. That restaurant is slated to open in November.
