[image-1]Our hearts shattered when neighborhood favorite The Park Cafe announced a discontinuation of dinner service back in June. Luckily for us, dinner isn’t entirely a done deal thanks to the revival of the restaurant’s monthly Family Meal.

August’s meal promises plenty of imaginative plates and old favorites from the dinner menu, prepared by executive chef Pat Gotschall. Courses include broiled oyster on the half shell, smoked swordfish ceviche, blue crab and asparagus croustade, and herb crusted rack of lamb, all “perfectly paired” with a deliberately chosen glass of wine. 
[content-2] The wine situation is provided by Justin Coleman of Monarch Wine Merchants, which just opened on Upper King. Coleman has sourced the night’s varietals from the Loire Valley, one of his favorite regions of France. To pair well with the French wine, Gotschall chose his dishes based on what’s popular in that region.

It’s $50 for dinner, with an additional $30 for wine pairing, and there are only about five seats left for the August 17 dinner, so get ‘em fast. If you miss your chance this round, family meals will be held on the third Thursday of every month.
