Hey, look what Nick Long made at summer camp. A triple-hopped, triple-malt, triple-filtered keg of beer!

Long, the beer and wine guru at Piggly Wiggly, attended Beer Camp at Sierra Nevada’s Chico, Calif. brewery last month and got a “100 percent, hands-on, beer-focused adventure.” The camp brings together industry folks and teaches them the art of brewing, and each session results in a brand new limited edition beer.

The beer that Long had a hand in creating is called Ghidorah (pronounced Gee-doe-rah, named after the three-headed monster from Godzilla). The India Pale Ale — which was made using three hops and three malts before being triple filtered — will be available for growler fills at three Piggly Wigglys during Labor Day weekend.

The Meeting Street Pig will have the beer and another seasonal on tap Friday, Sept. 3 from 4-8 p.m. On Saturday, they’ll have Gee-doe-rah out at the Newton Farms store in Freshfields Village at the entrance to Kiawah from 1-5 p.m. And on Sunday, the Mt. Pleasant store near IOP will have it from 1-5 p.m.

This will be your one and only chance to get a taste of this limited edition brew so get those growlers ready beer geeks.
