Well, the shot heard round Charleston’s reality-TV-loving world this morning was that The Real World is not coming to Charleston, as so many hoped and feared. Instead they’re heading back to San Francisco for their 29th season, according to Variety.

The Real World was last in San Fran for their 1994 season, which is considered one of their best as it featured an HIV-positive AIDS educator and a conflict with a homophobic housemate that put the AIDS epidemic in front of a nationwide audience.
