The Rick and Morty RickMobile is rolling across America in the world’s biggest Rick that doubles as a store and will be stopping by James Island’s Famulari’s Brew Pub Wed. Dec. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. This is the only South Carolina stop on the national tour and in honor of the occasion, Famulari’s is brewing a special Portal Gun Pale Ale that will only be available at the party.

For the uninitiated, Rick and Morty is an Adult Swim science fiction comedy (third season just concluded) that first premiered in 2013. The series — which has a 97 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes — follows the irreverent, inappropriate, absolutely hilarious and kinda fucked up adventures of mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his sweet and earnest grandson, Morty.

From one dimension to another, the two take on alien monsters, the Devil, drug-fueled teenage parties, and the annoying habits of Rick’s son-in-law, wet blanket Jerry. The show is NSFW most of the time, but has both sweetly poignant and deeply true moments. In one episode, Morty sagely and sadly informs Morty’s sister Summer that, “Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. We’re all going to die. Come watch TV.”
