Fireworks illuminated the Lowcountry sky throughout the weekend as both Piccolo Spoleto and Spoleto Festival USA said good-bye to their respective 17-day carnivals of art and culture. The temperature crept past the point of swelter and a dash of mild drama — in the form of a gentleman who booed a dance performance (and thus sparked debate far and wide) — livened up the homestretch of Spoleto, but hearty patrons of the spectacle populated the final performances and parties with giddy abandon. The pathos! The applause! The cheese! The champagne! Get your final fix of all things Spoleto-fabulous by logging on to www.spoletoscene.blogspot.com.
