Halloween is always a busy time in Charleston. The streets begin to fill with costumed characters at least a week before Oct. 31, with the anticipation of parties, contests, and themed shows. This year was no different. One of the big parties was at the Gaillard, with DJs spinning dance music, a costume contest, and a scantily-clad
Charleston Ballet Company
performing a burlesque show. Later that night, “
Scary Ann Hearse
” put on a great show at Cumberland’s with

, and other acts entertaining well past the witching hour. On Monday night, Carolina’s threw a spooktacular, five-course Halloween beer dinner, where recently-appointed Executive Chef Gavin Mills and Sous Chef Josh Wool united food and bev through creative dishes like an apple trio, featuring hot apple chips and candy corn fondue, paired with speciality brews like Hobgoblin Ale.
