It seems like every time we turn around, Jack’s Cosmic Dogs is on TV again. This time, the popular local hot dog joint, which was most recently featured on Food Network’s Best Thing I Ever Ate, will show up on ABC’s The View on Fri. July 2 at 11 a.m.

The chatty ladies of the popular morning talk show will be sampling “The Best of The Best Thing I Ever Ate” and will try out three different hot dogs for Friday’s episode. Jack’s entry will feature his signature Cosmic Dog, which Food Network celebrity Alton Brown chose to feature on Best Thing I Ever Ate. The Cosmic consists of a dog topped with Jack’s special sweet-potato mustard and housemade blue cheese cole slaw.

Brown is a long-time fan of Jack’s and also visited the restaurant in his Food Network show Feasting on Asphalt.

“We are ecstatic to be on The View. The Food Network brought us to foodies but The View will introduce an entirely different and much larger viewing audience to Cosmic Dogs. This is huge,” said owner Jack Hurley in a release.

Jack’s Cosmic Dogs has been a roadside institution on Hwy 17 in Mt. Pleasant for a decade, and Hurley recently opened a new location on Folly Road in James Island. Here’s hoping, for Jack’s sake, that the hot dogs will slow down the endless babble normally issuing from Walters, Goldberg and the other hosts.
