We knew there were two Christmas Carols happening in Charleston this holiday season, but it turns out there’s a third — and it’s completely different from the ones at Footlight and the Woolfe Street Playhouse. This version is a one-man show adapted and performed by George Younts, an actor and theater teacher at the Charleston County School of the Arts.
In the true spirit of the story, Younts is taking his performance on a goodwill tour of the Lowcountry, performing at churches, homeless shelters, prisons, veterans’ homes, and schools. There will also be one free performance for the general public at PURE Theatre. Donations will be accepted, and will be given to a nonprofit designated by the producing party of each performance.
The show lasts about an hour, and the public performance at PURE takes place Mon. Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.
