We know that summer seems like the perfect season for alfresco screenings of films, but if we’re honest sometimes it’s too damn hot. And while we know it’s technically still summer, we’re happy that Tides Folly Beach’s round of Wednesday night movies continues as the night’s temperatures start to drop. Starting this evening with Turbo at dusk, the beach in front of Tides will be transformed to a cinema. The Lego Movie plays on Aug. 13, followed by Dirty Dancing on Aug. 20. The space-set drama Gravity screens on Aug. 27 and Back to the Future is on Sept. 3. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade shows on Sept. 10, and Jaws will end the series on Sept. 13.
All screenings are free and dependent on the weather. Attendees should bring their own chairs or blankets. For more information, call (843) 588-6464 or visit tidesfollybeach.com.
