Painter Tim Hussey is presenting a new body of work, It Want Wait, at The George Gallery in Elliotborough on Fri. Nov. 14. Although Hussey trained as an illustrator, as a fine artist he’s known for his abstract pieces, many of which are drawings or mixed media works.

With this body of work, Hussey is focusing more on color and composition, and relying less on his illustrative background, says George Gallery owner Anne Siegfried. “His style is still there, and recognizable. I just see more painterly qualities in this collection, more reliance on color than line.”

The opening reception runs from 5-8 p.m. on Friday.
