If we had an ounce of humility, we’d say this is starting to get embarrassing. Travel + Leisure’s August magazine — its annual World Best Awards readers’ survey ish — hits newsstands next week, and advance word puts Charleston in the number six spot for Best City in America and Canada. Better than Vancouver. Better than Montreal. Don’t even mention Boston, Philly, Austin, or Miami. And Seattle can just talk to the hand. (?)
It doesn’t end there. Woodlands Resort in Summerville lands in the runner-up position for Best Hotel in the Continental U.S. and Canada, with Planters Inn dropping at No. 7 and the Wentworth Mansion squeaking in at No. 40. Oh, stop it already, you’re making us blush….
