Alex Murdaugh, a 53-year-old prominent lawyer from a well-known legal family in the lower part of the state, was shot and injured Saturday while on the side of a rural road in Hampton County. The incident comes months after Murdaugh found his wife and son shot to death at their Colleton County estate. Murdaugh, expected to recover, has since resigned from his law firm, which reportedly accused him of diverting funds, apologized and entered rehabilitation.
