Produce delivery service Farmstand will pop-up at Dashi on Saturday, Dec. 5 with a variety of regional produce from local farms and purveyors. Days later on Dec. 8, local food truck &Lobster will set up at the North Charleston restaurant with a specialty menu featuring items like lobster ramen, lobster fried rice and more.

Saturday, patrons will be able to purchase vegetables, eggs, Ashe County cheese, Palmetto Farms grits and Hillside Orchard Cider, among other items from 4-8 p.m.

“We will have a great selection of local, regional and exotic fruits and vegetables along with dozens of local products,” said Farmstand owner Steven Walters. “We have partnered with Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company and will have some of their butcher shop and charcuterie items. There will be giveaways for the little ones and chances to win free Farmstand gift cards and products.”

Farmstand is a subsidiary of Walter’s Farm in St. George. The farm is the wholesale side of the business, and Farmstand provides direct-to-consumer services, Walters said.

“We deliver local produce and goods to Charleston area homes. We grow some on our family farm and source the rest from other South Carolina farms when available,” he said. “In addition to that, we are building our inventory of local and regional food products such as sauces, cheese, local meats, grits, eggs, specialty honey, pickled veggies, ciders and baked goods. We are always on the lookout for something new.”

Farmstand, which donates 10% of all proceeds to the Lowcountry Food Bank, will showcase many of these products Saturday at Dashi.

“Dashi has always been very supportive of us, and we are excited to do a pop-up with them,” Walters said. “It will be a great way for people to get a sense of what we are all about.”

On Tuesday, Dec. 8, local food truck &Lobster, which specializes in New England-style lobster rolls, will take over Dashi’s kitchen for a special dinner.

“This menu is not something we do on our truck and specifically done for this night with Dashi,” said &Lobster chef and owner Rob Cassi
