On Wed. Nov. 4, Las Olas Oceanmarket and Parrot Surf Shop present two highly acclaimed surf films, Modern Collective and Still Filthy. Kai Neville’s Modern Collective follows six surfers as they set out to alter perceptions about modern day surfing. They don’t jet ski miles out into the ocean to catch the biggest waves; instead they hug the shore, making the most of the smaller waves. Still Filthy, Surfer Poll’s movie of the year, is a sequel to the ground-breaking Filthy Habits, documenting the Billabong team as they tour the world shredding to bands like Social Distortion and TSOL. The two films will be shown at the American Theater, 446 King St., at 7 and 9 p.m. Admission is $5 for both films.
