This year’s Contemporary Charleston: Under the Radar exhibit, which opened in May as part of Piccolo Spoleto, was impressive, though it left us with many questions. What’s the story behind Conrad Guevara’s shimmering silver cellophane piece or Alan W. Jackson’s painstakingly precise line drawings? And how difficult is it to put together one of Nina Garner’s multimedia pieces?

Luckily, the City Gallery will host lectures from each of the show’s artists on Saturdays in July. The lineup inlcudes Rebecca West Fraser and Lauren Frances Moore (July 2), Melinda Mead and Guevara (July 9), Greg Hart and Jackson (July 16), and Garner and DH Cooper (July 23).

Each takes place at 5 p.m. Stop by the gallery to get a look, and call (843) 958-6484 or visit for more info. The show continues through July 31.
